How to Use ND Filters: An Introduction

This 77mm Magco Magnetic ND Filter Stack Set with Caps and Wallet from Ice contains six of the most popular neutral density filters, plus a 77mm magnetic adapter ring, and a protective magnetic front- and rear-cap set. The entire kit can be conveniently stored in the included filter wallet. Increasing neutral density offers finer control in available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and increasing bokeh. This level of image control can help to create more cinematic effects in low to bright light, and multiple filters may be stacked for increased density.

These filters are made from optical glass that features multicoating for reduced lens glare, providing optimal light transmission. They also feature a nanocoating on each optical surface that resists water, oil, dust, fingerprints, and scratches, making it ideal for use in harsh environments, and also make them easy to clean.

Ice Magco magnetic filters are fully compatible and interchangeable with Kase, Haida, Marumi, and Freewell brand magnetic filter systems.
